Read more about our curriculum

Global Sky Education has developed a holistic curriculum in line with the Early Years Learning Framework and inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy. The play-based curriculum centres on engaging programs that help children take the first steps towards a lifetime of learning.

The Reggio Emilia Approach is an educational philosophy developed by a teacher, Loris Malaguzzi, and the parents of the villages around Reggio Emilia in Italy after World War II. It embeds the principles of respect, responsibility, and community into programs that provide children with the chance to explore and discover. Educators provide a supportive and enriching environment where children can learn by following their interests.

The curriculum brings together the interactions, experiences, activities, routines and events, either planned or unplanned, that occur each day. Educators observe children in activities, compare, discuss and interpret observations together, and along with the children make choices about future activities for fun and learning. Children are encouraged to safely and securely explore their world, guided by teachers who share their sense of adventure and "amazement".

The curriculum also celebrates diversity, with inclusive programs that aim to remove barriers and ensure every child feels welcome, accepted and part of the centre 'family'.

Our Difference

Locally owned & trusted

Among the longest-running centres in our communities — real local people, like a home away from home.

Genuinely multicultural

Every family and culture belongs. Japanese lessons run across all our centres, with Spanish, French, Chinese and sign language taught at some locations.

Great value

Inclusions tailored to each location, without compromising on quality — and with the new subsidy changes, most families pay less.

Keeping Children Safe

Secure sign-in

Controlled access for added peace of mind.

Digital-device & child-safe practices

Clear policies that protect children's safety, privacy and wellbeing.

Working-with-children checked

All educators hold a current Blue Card, and all staff provide a national police clearance on employment.

SunSmart & allergy aware

Shade, sunscreen and carefully managed nutrition.

FAQs

What ages do you care for?
From 6 weeks through kindergarten, with Outside School Hours Care for school-age children up to 13 years at selected centres.
How do I check vacancies?
Availability varies by centre and age group. Find your nearest centre and book a tour, or call — we'll confirm current vacancies and waitlist options.
How do fees & the Child Care Subsidy work?
Fees start from $130.60 per day and vary by centre. Most families receive the Child Care Subsidy (up to 90%), paid directly to reduce your fee. Use the Starting Blocks calculator to estimate your cost.
What's included in the daily fee?
Nappies, wipes and sunscreen, plus music, dance, art and sports, language lessons and cultural programs. Freshly cooked meals are provided at five of our eight centres — Mt Archer, Rockhampton North and Cedar Avenue do not provide meals, so families there pack their child's food. Some incursions and excursions are included and some are optional extras you opt into and pay for separately. Everyone brings a sun-safe hat, water bottle and a spare change of clothes.
Do you offer a kindergarten program?
Yes — an Approved Kindergarten Program (universal access) in the year before school, plus strong school-readiness across all rooms.
