About our Centre

Mt Archer Early Learning Centre is located within the boundaries of the city of Rockhampton and is named after the nearby Mount Archer National Park. With a mix of built and natural spaces we pride ourselves on our engaging and nurturing environments, allowing and encouraging each child to grow and discover the world around them. We value the important role our environment holds in creating engaging spaces because of its power to organize, promote pleasant relationships between people of different ages, provide opportunities for changes, promote choices and its potential for sparking all kinds of social, physical and cognitive learning.

Our service is inspired by the Reggio-Emilia approach which is an educational philosophy based on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community through exploration and discovery in a supportive and enriching environment stemming from the interests of the children through a self-guided curriculum.

Our outside environment is enriched with a balance of natural and manmade elements and play surfaces – with sandpits, bike path, water park, animals and lots of shady play spaces. We have carefully designed and planned spaces to encourage a stronger understanding of the environment and sustainability – while giving children the scope to explore, play and let their imaginations roam to their own delight.

Our Team

We are a friendly bunch and our team of educators are dedicated, enthusiastic, and fully-qualified childcare professionals. Passionate about early learning and holding many years of experience within the Early Childhood and Education sector, we take our role as Educators very seriously and recognise the responsibility of nurturing children through their formative years.

Our team work collaboratively with our Educational Leader and Nominated Supervisor to ensure that each child receives the highest quality education and care at all times. We value our role as an extended member of our families and look forward to becoming one of yours.

Kindergarten Program

Our centre offers both a government approved kindergarten program run by a teacher and long day care, all under the one roof. Our kindergarten teachers are university qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life.

Child Care Subsidy (CCS)

Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is a Government payment to help eligible families who use approved and registered child care, such as all Global Sky Education centres. CCS payments help eligible families reduce their weekly payments and can also help make child care more affordable for families.
